my damp problem was dealt with quickly and the boys tidied up behind them well. The new plaster took at least the three weeks that I was told, to dry but it was that very wet spell in December. Happy with the job.

This company was recommended by a family member who is in the building trade. We first met Alistair, who is the owner, who came out to complete a survey and answered all our questions. Once we had agreed upon a price and a date for the work to commence, he and his team answered any further queries we had before any work began. The 2 young men who worked at our property were fabulous. Andrew and Callum arrived timeously, were very respectful, kept us up to date with what was happening and didn't slack for a moment. They had everything they needed in their van, they wouldn't even stop for a can of juice or a cup of tea. They even listened to their music via headphones so as not to disturb us. They both worked their butts off. We also met Alistair's son Chris, again a lovely young man, very personable, who also kept us up to date with what was going on. Once the job was finished, we had noticed some things we were concerned about, purely because we know nothing about this kind of stuff. Alistair came out to our property and reassured us that all was well. He will also visit in a few months to ensure everything is as it should be. That is incredible customer service. We would not hesitate to recommend to others, brilliant service.

After being worried about two areas of dampness in our home, we initially received a quote for a few £1,000 from another trader as they claimed they would need to knock down and rebuild a wall. However, upon contacting Matheson Damp Services over the phone, Karen made me feel very at ease, she firstly queried if we had tried the typical remedies of mould etc (rather than instantly trying to get a sale, so to speak), and then explained the whole process of what would happen with the survey and was happy to answer all my questions and offer lots of general advice.

The survey completed by Calum, who was polite, efficient and very knowledgeable. In the end, the issues turned out not to be as serious as first feared from the initial quote of the first trader, which was a relief. Although the work required could not be carried out by Mathesons Damp Services themselves, Calum offered some great advice and assured us he would get us some further information forwarded to us.

Within an hour or so, Karen, had already forwarded this information, along with some links to helpful products and some possible recommendations for other traders to carry out the work.

All in all, cannot fault any aspect of the whole process. Mathesons Damp Services are definitely an honest, caring and professional company which I cannot recommend highly enough.

Survey Quotation

Our surveyor will come out and survey the areas you have indicated need investigated. A quotation describing any remedial works will be sent out within 48 working hours along with a drawing of the area affected. If any remedial work by other trades needs completed prior to any of our work, this will be noted in the quotation.

Survey Report

Our surveyor will come out and survey the whole property and produce a written report along with photos, drawing and an estimate. This will normally be, although not exclusively, if it is a pre or post purchase scenario, and there may be a mortgage company or lawyer requesting sight of the report. The report will detail the cause of the issue, type of building, weather conditions on the day of survey. If any remedial work by other trades needs completed prior to any of our work, this will be noted in the report. This will be sent out within 72 working hours of the survey.
